Is this guy really an undecided voter? Is he really an Independent? I was watching his news conference this morning from his driveway in Ohio and I was really taken aback by some of the things this so called independent voter was saying. First of all he was willing to talk all about himself. He seemed to be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame, who wouldn't?
He seems like a normal enough person. I commend him for being political and taking a stance politically, especially on a specific policy. Often I am afraid that most of my fellow citizens don't think about the policies enough and the fact that Joe does is a wonderful thing.
Apparently, however, Joe was not raised in Ohio, but rather in "Lower Alabama" or "LA". For those unfamiliar with the area, he is talking about Florida. So, he was raised in Lower Alabama and always thought that he was born in the South. It wasn't until Good Ol' Boy Joe the Plumber was 18 years old that he found out the dirty secret of the family: HE IS REALLY A YANKEE!
Well, that must be a tough fact to handle when you are a good southern boy of 18 and find out that you are in fact a Yankee. But this is an independent voter people! One who just so happened to be registered with the Natural Law Party at some point. Though he doesn't even know what their platform is.
He believes in the the war in Iraq because we "took the fight to them", whoever "them" is. Maybe Joe is one of the many people in this country that believed Bush when he said there is a connection between Al Qaeda and Iraq. In reality, Al Qaeda didn't have a presence in Iraq until we got there. So, if Joe thinks it's good policy to invade countries so that we can have a battlefield to fight our wars, and Iraq was as good a place as any then I understand why he thinks it is a good idea to fight "them" in Iraq. If, however, he thinks that Al Qaeda was in Iraq and working with Hussein he has been bamboozled.
So let's see, he thinks we should be in Iraq, thinks he will be victimized by Obama's tax increase for the top 5% of wage earners and doesn't like Yankees. Does this really sound like an independent voter to you?
